About The Photographer
Brief biography of award-winning photographer Brian Pernicone and his inspirations.
Brian grew up admiring the coastal waters of Southern New England and has found them to be a source of inspiration throughout his life.
His travels to locales such as Alaska, Hawaii, Thailand and Guatemala opened his eyes to the world beyond Rhode Island's rocky shores. It was his desire to share those experiences with his family and friends that spurred this self-taught photographer to begin capturing what he saw.
While those distant locations sparked Brian's creativity, the flame continues to burn daily in his home life, as he often finds a muse in places such as his backyard, nearby fishing ports and coastal lighthouses.
More than anything, though, his family - including his wife Jessica, son Grayson, and daughter Eleanor - provide him daily moments of joy, motivation and inspiration.
Brian was among the winners of the Conanicut Island Art Association's 2015 Town Hall Gallery exhibition for his powerful image of a storm-ravaged beach titled, "Windswept."
