When September Ends Pt. 2

A surfer exits the water after an epic shred session during September's memorable storm surge at Deep Hole in Matunuck, R.I.

We're now more than a week into the month of October and I can't tell you how many people are still asking me about September's incredible surf conditions. One surfer, David Benjamin of Bridgeport, Conn., called me late last week just to reminisce about the epic surge.

"It's still at the front of my mind no matter what I'm doing," he said. "Wasn't it unbelievable?"

That it was. I find myself grabbing my binoculars every morning and looking out off my back deck toward Deep Hole in Matunuck, R.I., to see what the conditions are like and the sense that the waves will be back up today hasn't worn off yet.

But, while I continue waiting to see some stacks when I pick up the optics, I've got plenty more images to go through to keep me occupied.
